Head of the Biological and Intellectual Property areas at ABIFINA and Progenericos. 27 years of experience in IP and Biotechnology.

Dra Andrea Diniz

Pharmacist (UNESP), specialist in Clinical Pharmacy (Universidad de Chile), MSc (UFRGS) and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (USP Ribeirao Preto), with a postdoc at the University of Florida. Professor at Universidade Estadual de Londrina and, since 2010, at Universidade Estadual de Maringa, teaching Pharmacognosy and Pharmacokinetics. Coordinates its Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Dra Carlota de Oliveira Rangel Yagui

Full Professor of Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Sao Paulo (USP) and Visiting Professor at King’s College London. PhD in Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Technology (USP, 2003), with a sandwich PhD at MIT. Editor-in-Chief of the Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences; leads the Laboratory of Nanobiotechnology at USP.

Dra Carolina Horta Andrade

Associate Professor at the Federal University of Goias (UFG), coordinating the Drug Design and Molecular Modeling Laboratory (LabMol) and serving as PI at CEIA, CESU and CRAFT. PhD from USP; uses AI and computational methods in medicinal chemistry for drug discovery. 150+ articles, H-index 33; Senior Editor at ACS Omega; member of the Global Young Academy.

Dr Dayvid Souza Santos

PhD in Industrial Engineering (UFBA). Full-time professor at the Federal Institute Goiano. Currently General Coordinator of Social Technology and Solidarity Economy at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Member of the International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) and the International Society for Development and Sustainability (ISDS).

Dra Elany Barbosa da Silva

Professor at the University of Sao Paulo (USP), working on drug discovery targeting proteins in infectious and parasitic diseases. Postdoc at UC San Diego; PhD in Biochemistry (UFMG), with part of her doctorate at Universitat Salzburg. MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences, BSc in Pharmacy. Research integrates medicinal chemistry, chemical biology and parasitology.

Dr Fabio Rocha Formiga

PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Navarra (Spain) and postdoc in nanomedicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard University. Member of INCT iCEIS (UFPE), INCT NanoBiofar (UFMG) and Rede Pasteur. Coordinates Fiocruz’s Translational Nanotechnology Program (FioNano) and works on its mRNA Vaccine Platform. Recipient of Spain’s National Research Award and the CT&I SUS 2025 Award.

Pharmacist (UFPB) with a PhD in Bioactive Natural and Synthetic Products (UFPB) and a postdoc at USP Ribeirao Preto. President of the Brazilian Society of Medicinal Plants (SBPM), Professor of Pharmacognosy at UNIVASF, and CNPq Research Productivity Fellow (PQ-A) in Pharmacy.

José Lamartine Soares Sobrinho

Researcher and current coordinator of INCT iCEIS-UFPE, managing pharmaceutical technology development projects and connecting the university with other innovation stakeholders such as industry, social organizations and government.

Dra Letícia Scherer Koester

Pharmacist and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from UFRGS. Full Professor in the Department of Drug Production and Control at UFRGS. Currently Coordinator of the Pharmacy area at CAPES.

Dra Marize Campos Valadares

Pharmacist-biochemist, MSc and PhD in Pharmacology (Unicamp), with two postdocs at Johns Hopkins’ Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing. Full Professor of Toxicology at UFG and Associate Editor of Toxicology. Researches New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for toxicity testing. 150+ articles, several patents, and 50+ awards, including the 2025 Women Innovators and Finep Innovation awards.

Dr Matheus de Freitas Fernandes Pedrosa

Pharmacist (UFRN) and PhD in Biotechnology (USP). Former Scientific Researcher at Instituto Butantan (2004-2006); currently Full Professor of Biochemistry at UFRN and CNPq Level 1B Research Fellow. Coordinates the Biomolecule Biotechnology Laboratory (LBB/UFRN), working on bioactive peptides and natural products. Holds six patents; collaborates with institutions in France, Spain and Japan.

Dra Nadine Lysyk Funk

Pharmacist (UFSM) and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (UFRGS), with a sandwich PhD at UCL School of Pharmacy, London. Experienced in developing innovative pharmaceutical forms, focusing on 3D printing and nanotechnology. Currently an Entrepreneurial Postdoctoral Researcher (FAPERGS/SEBRAE) and co-founder/Scientific Director of formula3D, a deeptech specialized in 3D-printed medicines.

Dr Paulo Caleb

Full Professor (Livre-Docente) of Pharmacology at Unifesp, advising MSc/PhD students in Pharmacology (Unifesp) and Medical Sciences (FMUSP). Postdoc at USP’s InCor-HC/FMUSP (2013); PhD in Sciences (USP); BSc in Pharmacy-Biochemistry (Unifal-MG). Dr Wellington Pinheiro dos Santos

Founder of UFPE’s Biomedical Engineering graduate program; senior researcher at UPE. Coordinates the Biomedical Computing axis of INCT iCEIS, working on AI, image processing and machine learning for health. 100+ articles, patents and software.

Dr Wuelton Marcelo Monteiro

Pharmacist-biochemist (UEM, 2004), MSc in Biosciences (UEM, 2006), PhD in Tropical and Infectious Diseases (UEA, 2010), postdoc at UFSC. Researcher and former Director of Teaching and Research (2017-2024) at FMT-HVD; Associate Professor at UEA since 2013. Author of 400+ publications; visiting professor at Duke University.
